Hello peeps,

I'd like to apologize to you for not making good on the recently-advertised Member Rewards promotion. Believe it or not, I threw out my back rather foolishly whilst reaching behind my car seat for some fairly heavy shopping bags (go here to see how I made it up to you).

I could've simply released my seatbelt and turned around to lift the bags one by one, but I got lazy and decided to just reach back blindly to hoist them over my shoulder - BAD idea.

Oddly enough though, I didn't really feel anything until about an hour later whilst reading on the sofa... my back hurt like HELL! Long story short, I was unable to sit for 2 weeks. I had to either stand, gently lower myself to a kneeling position or lie flat on the ground with my knees bent and a tightly-rolled towel wrapped around my waist.

This was no fun and given the amount of work involved in tallying up Member Rewards points, I really couldn't manage the task... and then there was the housework and family chores!

Thankfully, things weren't completely hopeless because my sisters were able to fill in for me around the house. They did so much on top of their own responsibilities, I really couldn't ask them to help out with DGG as well. Consequently, the Member Rewards just got shelved.

Ya know what, though? Being unable to do anything useful gave me a lot of time to think. I was feeling so guilty about disappointing loyal members such as yourself, that I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to make it up to you. After all, I still had quite a way to go before I could announce the winners. Then it came to me... why not just have a surprise cash giveaway? That should keep everyone happy until I'm able to reward those who deserve it most - eureka!

So here it is. Instead of taking even more time to set up a Rafflecopter giveaway, promote it all over the Web and process a whole bunch of ensuing e-mail opt-ins, I took a shortcut and just used a random number generator. Random.org has a great one which claims to be much more "random" than the typical computerized number generators in widespread use.
